Town Court
The Town Justice Court is a separate entity from the Town Government despite being in the Town Hall.
Town and village courts are collectively known as the Justice Courts. Many New Yorkers will have their first and only court experience in one of the almost 1,200 locally-funded Justice Courts located throughout New York State (except for New York City). These courts have jurisdiction over a broad range of matters, including vehicle and traffic matters, small claims, evictions, civil matters and criminal offenses.
Disclaimer: All email correspondence to the Town Justices is official in nature. Notwithstanding, the use of email for communication does not alleviate any parties subject to the court from fulfilling submission, appearance, or any other requirement of the law, nor may it be used as a substitution for any procedure required by law and/or directed by the court. Further, public use of this method in no way obligates reciprocation by the Town Justices, their clerks or staff.
