Town Clerk
The Town Clerk’s office is responsible for all record keeping activities within the town government. The Clerk’s office is where all of the documents and vital papers for town residents are filed and maintained. Other duties of the town clerk are Records Access Officer, registrar, and administrator of oaths of office.

At the Town of Schuyler Falls the Town Clerk also is the receiver of taxes and collects water payments. As the tax collection entity for Schuyler Falls the Town Clerk collects both property and school taxes. All powers and duties of this office, as well as collection procedures, are statutory and defined in the New York State Real Property Tax Law. Water collection procedures are defined in Town Law.
Tax Collection Information
Due Date for Property Taxes: January 31st
There is no penalty if paid by this date. Late penalty is 1% in the month of February, 2% in month of March, 3% in April, plus a $2 fee. After that your account will be forwarded to the Clinton County Treasurer for collection.
Installment Payments are Available
For a 2% service charge*, you may pay your bill in four installments. The first payment is due to the Receiver, January 31st, with the remaining 3 monthly installments payable to the County Treasurer. The 2% charge is levied on the first installment only. Penalties will be assessed on all installment payments paid after the due date. Call the office for more information.
