New York State Law requires that all dogs 4 months of age or older that reside in the state for more than 30 days must be licensed, within the municipality in which they currently live, and renewed on an annual basis. Please bring proof of rabies vaccination and if applicable a neutering/spaying certificate, to the Clerk’s office where you will complete an application and pay a small fee. A tag will be issued which, along with the rabies tag, must be worn on your dog’s collar and all times. It is also recommended that a personal ID tag with a phone number also be worn for easy identification should your dog become lost.
